Southside sister and her hubby ventured north on a bitterly cold January day to the sleek Classen Curve and the Republic Gastro Pub. Boasting of 100 unique beers and 19 big screen TV's, this place is the ultimate sports bar. I don't think sister and hubby realized this until they were there. They planned to share their findings with me, so they tried an appetizer and dessert. First up were chicken nachos which were OK, but the carmelized onions were a little sweet. They split the Classen Burger and shoestring potatoes. Sorry to say, they found both greasy. They happened upon friends who recommended the turkey burger. Maybe next time. They found a little bit of heaven in the brownie and ice cream dessert. Scrumptious! All together, they couldn't give the place more than 2 1/2 stars. But then, drink enough beer and the food's probably a lot better.
