Irma's Burger Shack, 1035 NW 63 - August 21, 2010

IrmasThe 5Star Dinner Club descended upon Irma's Burger Shack as the temperature topped 103 on Saturday night. One of my personal favorite burger joints, Irma's did not fare well. In fact, it fizzled in the sizzle. Although the place was practically empty, we had to wait ito be seated, and when we were seated, the setting was for 4 instead of 6. We pushed another table together. The waitress was pleasant, but inefficient to say the least. Our stuffy little corner was hot! A window unit set besides us with a temperature setting of 86. We asked her change the setting, and she said she would have to check with the manager. That never happened although she did turn on a fan. In a nutshell, the service was not good. The table was sticky. The good news is, the food was good, but we were too wilty to enjoy it. One hamburger was overdone and one didn't quite have all the fixin's for a theta burger. Other burgers, onion rings, french fries, and a cobb salad were good. Also--the chicken fried steak. I have found the service at Irma's to be much better at midweek lunch. Just make sure the temperature's not soaring and check your table before you sit down. Overall rating by the 5Star Dinner Club is 2 stars.
